A Bigot's View 
 
I really don't mind if you are gay 
Just not my son hey no way 
I don't think it's the wrong thing to do 
Least that is what I'll say to you 
 
Teach sex education 
Yeah sure that's fine 
What gay sex education 
Are you out of your mind? 
 
I don't mind what you do 
So long as you do it out of my view 
I don't mind your feelings inside 
Just as long as you're prepared to hide 
 
I don't mind if my own son is gay 
But he won't be doing it in my house no way 
I'll tell you that I'm reasonable I'll say that I'm fair 
But I'm a bigot you see and I really don't care. 
 
 
 
 
Note: I wrote this after a very interesting & heated discussion with Samantha the mother of our child. She basically had blown a fuse at the thought of our son being taught gay sex education. She tried to say that she had nothing against gay people, but it became obvious from her statements that she found gay people very hard to deal with. Now my only point here is, if you feel something so strong, maybe you should say it and not hide behind false throw away statements that are meaningless. As I said to her gay people are only people with different sexual tastes. They are not aliens. Thinking like that scares me. It was only 50 years ago that black people were sitting on different buses and Jews were being gassed. Have we really learned nothing?
